Review: My Maid Invests in the Stock Market… And Why You Should, Too!

Title: My Maid Invests in the Stock Market… And Why You Should, Too!
Author: Eugenio “Bo” Sanchez Jr.
ISBN: 978-971-007-020-6
Language(s): English

With only a little over 70 pages, Bo’s book tells how one can easily invest and grow his money in the stock market. This, at the same time, is also a true story of how his helpers double or triple their hard-earned money in the said investment scheme.

Ultimately, this book discusses the different jargon used in the industry and the various tools and principles one can apply.

I’ve always been a fan of rags to riches story as it motivates me that nothing in this world can hinder me from being successful as long as I fight for it. And as mentioned above, this is a true story of the road to financial freedom of Bo’s helpers through investing in the stock market. As far as I’m aware of, his maid (now a bookkeeper) already has over a million peso as of this year. Whoa! A big whoa!!

The title of this book really walk its talk. It isn’t a click bait nor a scam. It definitely is true.. and working (based on my personal experience).

Using his maids as examples to prove the possibility of earning big in the stock market (as discussed at the beginning of his book) gave the readers a clear sense of how easy investing in it can be. No offence to our Filipino helpers. 🙂

At the same time, it also imposes a psychological challenge that if a meek helper can earn that big, then people with higher achievements should be able to produce a much better result. Tricky you, Bo!

Everything’s pretty much basic.. but brief enough to encourage one to invest.

Like how he relates the chocolate store illustration to the basic definition of stock market, Bo uses easy to relate scenarios to explain some brain-busting stock terms.

What I liked the most?

Every time I read this, the Money Cost Averaging strategy discussed in Chapter 1 has always been my top favorite.

I’m such an impatient guy so this approach really challenges me to the fullest. But lucky for me, I always end following this style no matter how boring it is.

Would I recommend it?

Though a review is already long overdue, I still cannot resist the urge to do one for this.

This (e)book will always have a special place in my heart since this was the one that encouraged me to enter into the once strange world of stock market 3 years ago. With the easy-to-apply principles and simple terminologies, it is a very good introduction for people who want to invest in the stock market.

A great book indeed!
